Teapot

Recently while in the OSUsed Store, OSU Plumber Stan L’ey happened upon a sturdy metal teapot that seemed to be a perfect fit for a dilemma he had at Nash Hall.

In Nash, an autoclave had a pipe leaking between the ceiling above the autoclave and the floor of the building level above. Reaching it for repair would have required the demolition of the 18-inch thick floor.

With some creative machining, the surplus teapot was welded with a stainless steel pipe to become a sleeve to bypass the leaking pipe as it travels between floors. Saving OSU time and money while putting items to creative reuse? Now that’s our cup of tea.
