|OSU received Gold designations from the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS) for 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014.||In 2012, The Princeton Review named OSU to its Honor Roll for the 16 Most Environmentally Responsible Colleges. In 2013, 2014 and 2015 OSU was recognized in the annual Guide to Green Colleges for sustainability practices.||OSU has been awarded a Silver designation by the League of American Bicyclists under the Bicycle Friendly University (BFU) Program.||For the 2013 Sierra Club "Cool Schools" ranking, Oregon State had the highest green ranking in the state. For 2014 and '15, OSU placed 41st and 42nd in the nation, respectively.||Oregon State University placed first in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2015 in the annual Civil War RecycleMania competition with University of Oregon.||OSU was awarded a Green Power Leadership Award in 2008 from the US Environmental Protection Agency and has been a large purchaser of renewable energry.|
|In 2008, OSU was rated as one of the top 25 green colleges and universities by the Kaplan College Guide.||OSU's main campus has been designated by the National Center for Urban Transportation Reseach as one of their Best Workplaces for Commuters.||OSU has over a dozen LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) buildings, with one being certified at the highest rating, Platinum.||For the last six years, Oregon State has been the recipient of Tree Campus USA, awarded by the Arbor Day Foundation and the Oregon Department of Forestry.||
