Green space and more sustainable landscapes

It's not just about buildings...  each year since 2010 OSU has been awarded "Tree Campus USA" status by the Arbor Day Foundation, OSU also strives to restore habitat, protect waterways and create additional green spaces around campus.

There are a number of restaurants in Corvallis that support local agriculture and have implemented more sustainable practices at their businesses.  The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition issued a list of restaurants that strive to use ingredients from nearby counties.

Waste & Recycling

OSU strives to decrease its landfill-bound waste by reducing, reusing and recycling;  Campus Recycling spearheads these efforts.  Please help us keep our campus beautiful by reducing what you need to throw away, and properly disposing of what does need to be discarded.

Visit Campus Recycling’s website for info on how to recycle, services provided, how to get involved in the Waste Watchers student club, etc. Visit Surplus Property’s website for info on reuse of university property and the OSUsed Store.

For off campus services, including compost collection, visit Republic Service’s website.
