Location

The conference is held at The LaSells Stewart Center on the OSU campus.

Dates

Dates for 2018 are Nov. 6 and Nov. 7

Audience

The audience will consist of classified, professional faculty and academic faculty employees who:

  • Want to better understand new and existing programs and services, policies and procedures, and innovations.
  • Are interested in systems and processes to increase efficiencies in everyday work.
  • Want to hear about other relevant topics of interest to employees.

Presentation Length

Presentations are 50-minutes in length. There will be 10 minutes between sessions to allow presenters to set-up materials and equipment, and allow participants time to get to the next session. If you prefer a 90-minute presentation (mornings only), we can accommodate your request if space is available.

You may also have the option to present a topic twice, perhaps one each day, if space is available.

Past Presentations

For a quick peek at topics that were presented in the 2016 OSU Training Days conference.

Room Set

Rooms are set in theater style (chairs) with the exception of Construction and Engineering and Austin Halls which is tiered seating style and includes a stage, and one room set in classrom style (tables and chairs). Staffing will not be available for moving chairs or other room reconfigurations. Presenters are free to move chairs themselves, but will need to place them back in the original set up at the end of the session.

Attendee Sign-In

We will not ask participants to sign in for each session. You are welcome to bring your own sign-in sheet to track who attended your session.

Equipment Provided

  • Computer, projector, screen and microphone
  • White board
  • PowerPoint, Word, and Web with Flash capability
  • USB ports for flash/jump drive connectivity
  • Mac connectivity (Work in advance with the main office staff of Lasells to assure they have the proper cables.)

It generally works best for presenters to bring a laptop and connect to existing AV stations. The LaSells Stewart Center IT staff will be on hand for troubleshooting and set-up, as needed.

What is not Provided

Funding and resources for live streaming are not provided. Computers will not be equipped with recording software. Presenters may set up WebEx or other recording systems on their own either before the conference, in-between sessions or at lunch.

If there is no space in the schedule for your presentation...

Spaces fill quickly--at least the prime spots do--and you may have missed your opportunity. If your topic would do well in combination with another topic or there is a duplication in topics, you may want to join together in presenting. You can also be put on a wait list in case another presenter cancels.

Adjusting of the Schedule

If you decide that the time you intially scheduled your session needs to be changed, it creates some challenges, especially if the schedule is full. This can create a domino affect effecting other presenters. If you must change, call Leigh Larkin at 737-3207 to see if there is any flexibility in the schedule to make your change.
