Washington Way from 17th to 26th Streets reopens with new cycle track

Capital Project Delivery reached a milestone in January with the reopening of SW Washington Way between SW 17th and SW 26th Streets. Along with the roadway and sidewalk reopening, the new two-way cycle track is also open for use between SW Benton Pl. and SW 26th St. The first of its kind in Benton County, the cycle track will eventually stretch all the way from SW 15th to SW 35th Streets, creating a bike-friendly transit route across campus.

The work zone for the Washington Way Improvement Project has shifted west to the SW 26th to SW 30th St. section, which will remain closed for the next several months.

Updated Whyte Track and Field Center will host NCAA track meet

Capital Project Delivery is putting the finishing touches on the Whyte Track and Field Center Grandstands project. The expanded and updated facility will be ready to welcome athletes and spectators for the NCAA track meet scheduled for March. Upgrades include a new 1,200 seat grandstand with press box, a central plaza, restrooms, improved parking, new landscaping, underground utilities and sidewalk updates along SW 15th Street.
