Message sent on behalf of Ben Wessel, Senior Director of DFA Information Technology
Happy Thursday -
I write to update you on the progress of the reorganization efforts of IT and some communication functions in the Division of Finance and Administration. On May 26, 2021, we informed the division of the reorganization of DFA IT to align with DFA Guiding Principles and University Information and Technology's strategic plan.
DFA IT continues to meet with individual stakeholders, departments and user groups in order to assess and evaluate needs across the division. I am pleased to report that as a result of the reorganization, the new structure of DFA IT and our staff allows us to consolidate resources and expertise to tackle high priority projects, such as supporting Concur, OSU's new solution to book travel and submit expense reimbursements. In the future, we hope to increase this capacity even more with targeted staffing and reduction in duplicated services, and with a focus on customer service and business continuity. Requests for services and support can be made by emailing
Staffing Moving Forward
Andy Roberts, former director of technical solutions, accepted a new position outside of OSU and his last day was Nov 30. Andy was instrumental in the success of the reorganization, and we wish him well. As a result, we are reprioritizing work, and we may be in contact if your department or your systems are affected. We hope to name an interim director of technical solutions soon, with a search for a replacement to occur in the beginning of 2022.
We are fortunate to have a talented, dedicated staff; clear goals and priorities; and support from DFA leadership and UIT to make this happen. I look forward to working with DFA IT and the rest of the Division of Finance and Administration in achieving our shared priorities.
Like many DFA departments, we are planning on taking time off and will have limited operations the week of December 27. Essential services will be covered, and support requests can be made to
