Classified employees and professional faculty in OSU IT (UIT and college/dept. IT), Controller’s Units, and selected portions of University HR.

Professional faculty will begin using SuccessFactors to plan the next evaluation cycle starting in October 2021.

Access through the Performance Management project website or via MyOregonState

A welcome email will be sent from the Performance Management Pilot project team to pilot user groups prior to when you will be expected to start using SuccessFactors. Also, you’ll be invited to an orientation, as well as one of several “Getting Started” workshops, in advance of when you should start using SuccessFactors.

Goals entered into EvalS or other systems will not be integrated into the new SuccessFactors system

Your past performance records will remain within the EvalS system.

Existing data in your profile was pulled from Banner into SuccessFactors. Any additional fields in SuccessFactors are voluntary.

Yes!  SuccessFactors is a mobile-first application and so you may login with your mobile phone.

Currently the use of SuccessFactors is limited to just the pilot population. When the pilot is complete, SuccessFactors may or may not be chosen as the Performance Management platform for the entire university moving forward.

Your department should keep those records consistent with the university’s retention standards.

UHR will update your job record and that information will be updated.

There are 3 phases to our pilot performance management process: (1) Annual Plan, (2) Regular Check-Ins, and (3) Annual Review & Recognition. In SuccessFactors you will:

  1. Develop and record your performance and development goals
  2. Update progress on goals and record your quarterly check-ins
  3. Document your Annual Review
  • Timely
  • Ongoing conversation tied to goals & annual plan
  • Milestone based
  • Dynamic
  • Standardized for all employee types
  • Provides for continuous coaching

You and your manager will be able to view your performance appraisal. If you are a classified employee, an HR representative will also have visibility. It is also accessible by your unit’s director and above.

Finish the previous year’s evaluation in EvalS, if required. Attend a SuccessFactors pilot orientation and the “Getting Started” workshop to prepare yourself and learn about the system.

You will work with your manager to understand the goals for your unit/department. It is also possible with SuccessFactors that your manager will “cascade” your unit’s goals to you, so that they are included in your individual annual goal plan.

As a supervisor of IT employees, you will use SuccessFactors for managing their performance during the pilot period. If you also supervise employees that are not in scope of the pilot, you will continue as you have in the past.

Contact your Human Resources Strategic Partner (HRSP) or the Employee Labor Relations office.

There are a couple of ways you can update your goals mid-year. You may choose to leave the original goal and add additional comments, or your supervisor may unlock the goal so that you can make edits.

Absolutely! The intent is that you and your supervisor meet at least once a quarter specifically to talk about performance and progress toward goals.
