Grads Give Back is a student-started program seeking to reduce barriers that under-resourced students might experience as they near graduation. In addition to that, the program breathes new life into what are traditionally single-use garments by allowing graduates to donate their gown for someone to use next year.
Grads Give Back is the result of collaboration among staff of the Associated Students of OSU (ASOSU), Campus Recycling, Memorial Union (M.U.) and Valley Library.
How to Give Your Gown
Do you already have a gown or plan to walk in Commencement? Please consider giving your gown and keeping your cap and cords as a memento! Gowns can be donated at:
Staffed stations outside Reser Stadium right after Commencement on June 13, 2020
The Valley Library main entryway Saturday - Monday, June 13-15, 2020 during open hours
The M.U. Info Desk
On Commencement day, June 13, before 4 pm
Year-round during MU open hours (note: the M.U. is closed the day after Commencement as they are not open weekends in the summer)
The MU will also accept mailed gowns, which can be sent to: Marriah De La Vega, 2501 SW Jefferson Way, MU 112, Corvallis, OR 97331
We are able to accept gowns if they are in good condition (not ripped/damp/damaged), solid black, and Jostens brand. We cannot accept caps, cords, or tassels.
How to Receive a Gown
Students who feel that the cost of purchasing a graduation gown would prevent them from participating in Commencement with their peers are encouraged to pick up a free gown in spring term! Details for 2020 gowns will be added in late winter or early spring term.
