Each year, OSU has the opportunity to offer students an easy way to donate the items they no longer need while moving out, redistributing those reusable goods to nonprofits in our community - usually over 10 tons! We believe that together we can all improve our campus and neighborhoods, keep goods out of landfills, and be a benefit to our community.
OSU Surplus Property, Campus Recycling, and University Housing and Dining collected 20,422 lbs of student donations in 2022!
Clothing, Shoes, & Linens: 9,286 lbs
Food, Toiletries, & School Supplies: 1,902 lbs
Housewares: 9,234 lbs
Benefiting Organizations:
It takes the hard work of both OSU staff and volunteers to collect, sort, and redistribute literally tons of goods in just a couple weeks! When the Great Move Out is up and running, we will be asking for volunteers!
OSU hosts drop-off events to serve students living off-campus. To learn more about how to donate, visit the Off-Campus Move Out Donation Drive page.
Campus Recycling, Surplus Property and UHDS collect donations within every residence hall in the final weeks of spring term. To learn more, visit the Res. Hall Move Out Donation Drive page.
