The Great Move Out is still going on in the residence halls, but it's being done a bit differently due to COVID-19 precautions. Please see our special 2020 webpage for details for this year.
Look for an informational door-hanger on your door around Memorial Day and labeled donation carts placed in your hall in week 9. Donation carts are located on the ground floor of each residence hall (exceptions: Halsell and The Gem).
See below guidelines on where to put your stuff:
Must be sealed & non-perishable.
Soaps, lotions, unused deodorant, laundry soap, spray cleaners, cleaning wipes, etc. Bottles can be unsealed if mostly full.
Must be clean, dry & in good condition.
Decor, dishes, lamps, etc. Items must be clean, dry, and in working condition. If your item does not fit in the donation bin, place on the ground next to the bin. See large furniture guidelines below.
Place all scrap wood (e.g. loft bed kits), and furniture that doesn’t fit into donation bins, next to your outdoor trash dumpster, on the ground.
Electronics, CDs & ink cartridges will be recycled if they are not reusable. CDs and DVDs must be in their cases. If your item does not fit in the donation bin, place on the ground next to the bin.
Place unwanted bicycles next to donation bins.
Place accepted recyclables in the Bottles & Cans and Paper bins in your residence hall (most halls will have receptacles located on the first floor and all residence halls will have extra large recycle carts added in week 10). As usual, all cardboard needs to be taken outside.
Any items that can’t be donated or recycled should be taken to the outside dumpster/compactor.
