What Is Sustainability Council?

The OSU Sustainability Council unites student clubs and organizations – and individual students – with passion for sustainability and social justice at OSU. The Council builds relationships, encourages collaboration, and reduces redundancy in sustainability efforts among students. As part of Council, students support new and existing sustainability work at OSU – such as by volunteering and deciding how to allocate university resources. Sustainability Council drives shared goals and collective action.

Sustainability Council is a departmental program by the Sustainability Office

How To Get Involved With Council:

During spring term, the Sustainability Council meets every Wednesday from 5-6pm. All are welcome!

Have Sustainability Ideas? Want To Get Involved? Get Started Here!

If you are looking to advance sustainability at OSU, Sustainability Council can help. There are two ways to get started:

Option 1: Book a conversation with the Sustainability Council Facilitator.

The Council Facilitator is a student who helps organize the program on behalf of the Sustainability Office. Meetings are informal and a great place to start any discussion about sustainability.

Meetings can include:

  • Guidance or brainstorming during any stage of an idea or project
  • Learning about opportunities to be part of existing sustainability work
  • Answering general questions about Council
  • Assistance in making a support request from Council (e.g., volunteer support or funding for a sustainability project)
  • And more!

Option 2: Complete the Consultation Form.

The Consultation Form allows you to brainstorm sustainability ideas, submit potential project proposals, ask questions, and more. After completing the form, the Council Facilitator will reach out regarding next steps.
